They provided extensive training in organic farming, coffee cultivation, and environmental conservation techniques. This not only elevated coffee quality but also fostered economic growth and environmental protection through collaboration with local communities. The Maubere Mountain Coffee brand was established, ensuring direct purchase of coffee beans from farmers and ensuring they receive fair compensation. In contrast to the herbal notes often found in Indonesian coffees, East Timorese coffee presents a gentle and nuanced oily fragrance, with abundant fruity notes.
